The Renault ZOE just keeps getting better… We were already excited about ZOE arriving in the Summer, but now it’s been announced that customers will receive a free Wall-box domestic charging point with their lovely new car, resulting in a saving of around £500.
The Renault ZOE is part of the French company’s all-electric assault on the British car market, and it follows the Fluence Z.E. family saloon and Twizy urban commuter which are already on sale in the UK. In order to increase the demand for the new ZOEs, Renault will be offering a free home charging point with every car sold.
Whenever a ZOE is ordered or bought, British Gas will be informed and who will then contact the customer to arrange a suitable time for the survey and installation to take place. The Single Wall-box comes with a 4.5-metre long cable which will enable owners who have to park on the street to still be able to charge their cars at home.
Renault says that around 90 per cent of charging will take place at home and this domestic charger will fully charge the car’s battery in 3.5 hours from flat, while also allowing the owner to ‘see’ how much CO2 and, more importantly, money they are saving compared to an equivalent petrol or diesel car. Also included in the package will be free access to public charging points across the UK which will be able to charge the car to 80 per cent of its capacity in 30 minutes.
The official maximum range for the ZOE is 130 miles but Renault admits that this will vary according to the prevailing weather conditions, with a range of 90 miles in temperate conditions and 60 in cold weather.
The ZOE will arrive in UK showrooms on June 7 and will start at £13,667 (taking into account the Government’s £5,000 grant for new electric vehicles). Contact us today about leasing a Renault ZOE.
