An all-electric Kia EV6 has been driven from Britain’s lowest road to Britain’s highest road on a single charge. The distance of 209 miles, and the ascent of 2,791 feet, was completed with a range of 107 miles remaining.

It was the first time that the journey – which started at Holme Fen in Cambridgeshire and ended at Great Dun Fell in Cumbria – has been recorded as being completed by any vehicle. The Kia EV6 GT Line S AWD averaged 4.2 mi/kWh during the challenge, which took six hours in total.
The EV6 was piloted on the ‘Driven To Extremes Fen to Fell challenge’ by expedition specialist Max Adventure. To celebrate the achievement, the team took the EV6 on to Britain’s highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn, a 31-mile trip which involved the car descending 2,300 feet before climbing to 1,732 feet. The day’s route had started at Britain’s lowest pub, the Admiral Wells in Peterborough – close to Holme Fen, nine feet below sea level.
The final route up to the radar station at the top of Great Dun Fell – a private road – involved an ascent of 2,100 feet in just 5 miles. Driving back down the hill resulted in the EV6 gaining an extra 10 miles of driving range through brake recuperation.
At the end of the day, having covered 239 miles, the Kia EV6 still had 86 miles of indicated range remaining.
The Kia EV6 features an all-electric, dual-motor powertrain delivering 321 bhp and 605 Nm torque, along with ultra-fast 800V charging.
