Nissan Ariya Crossover electric car pre-orders open

Four versions of the Ariya will be available, with the first deliveries starting in summer 2022.

The range will start with the Advance, with two-wheel drive, a 63kWh battery, and a driving range of 223 miles, from £41,845.

The Evolve model will also have two-wheel drive, mated to a larger 87kWh battery, giving a range of up to 310 miles, and this will be available from £51,090.

The e-4ORCE Evolve will have all-wheel drive thanks to twin electric motors, a 87kWh battery, and a range of up to 285 miles, from £53,790.

Finally, the e-4ORCE Performance will also have all-wheel drive, the 87kWh battery, a range of up to 248 miles, and, with 394 PS, more power than the e-4ORCE Evolve, resulting in a rapid 0-62mph acceleration time of 5.1 seconds. The e-4ORCE Performance will be priced from £58,440.

e-4ORCE – which may be a challenge to pronounce – is the all-wheel control technology which the twin electric motor, all-wheel-drive Ariya models will feature.

The two-wheel drive models will have a towing rating of 750kg, but the all-wheel drive models – with 600Nm of torque – twice that of the two-wheel drive cars – will have a towing weight of 1500kg. Nissan says that the weight of the Ariya will vary from 1800kg to 2300kg. Boot capacity will be 466 litres, although this reduces down to 408 litres for the all-wheel drive models. All models will come with an on-board 22kW charger as standard, apart from the Advance model, which will offer this as an option.

The Ariya will have a choice of ten body colours, including pearlescent, metallic and premium metallic shades together with six two-tone options. There are also three dashboard colours (black, blue and grey).
