The Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is a great technology, however DriveElectric would like to advise our customers that the real-world MPG is unlikely to match the manufacturers’ stated figures. This is mainly due to the conditions of the NEDC test which generates the figure, whereby a short cycle must be performed on a cold vehicle at 20–30 °C on a flat road, in the absence of wind. Read more about the test conditions here.
Customers considering a PHEV should also be aware that real-world CO2 is likely to be higher than published figures. Our sales team can offer guidance on the likely real-world figures based on our own experience and only where we have tested the vehicles.
PHEVs are often eligible for the OLEV grant but this may change before the car is delivered – We will make every effort to ensure the grant is protected but cannot guarantee this.
