MINI’S first fully electric true production model – the MINI Electric is now available to lease. This new electric car is based on the same body as the Cooper 3-Door Hatch, with the addition of new design features defining this new MINI from the rest of the Fleet. It operates on a 32.6 kWh lithium-ion cell battery pack, enabling the car to achieve a real-world range of around 115 miles to a full charge. Reaching 0-60 in around 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 94 mph.
The MINI Electric uses Type 2 and CCS charging connectors, which have emerged as the European standard in the last few years. The good news is that this electric car arrives with both charging cables as standard; 3-pin and a Type 2 cables. Read more about charging and charging connectors here>
The Mini Electric can be recharged using a wall box home charger in around 4h 45m, and when using a public rapid charger expect to achieve 80% battery recharge in around 30 min.
Following new legislation introduced in July 2019, this car is fitted with acoustic pedestrian protection as an extra safety feature for low-speed driving when ‘road roar’ from tyres is absent. This system emits a distinctive sound via a speaker and is designed to alert pedestrians to the presence of an electric car. Mini commissioned the creation of a unique sound for their first electric vehicle.
The Mini Electric comes in three different trim levels which have been simply named as Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3.
The vehicle advertised on this page is the MINI Electric Level 3, this is the highest specification available and includes a larger touch screen navigation system, front and rear parking distance control (this includes park assist enabling the car to park itself!), a panoramic sunroof, premium sound system, a heads up display and full leather interior.
