ORA changes name of Funky Cat to 03
Chinese EV brand ORA has announced that from today its Funky Cat supermini is now known as the 03.
It caused a stir at launch but the Funky Cat is no more after the Chinese manufacturer ORA changed the name of its EV to 03.
As part of a larger brand strategy update, the electric car has been re-named to reflect the brand's new naming convention with any new models set to be named along similar lines.
The name might have changed but the rest of the EV remains the same, so expect a quirky and very distinctive model regardless of the trim level you've opted for. Speaking of trims, ORA has also confirmed that the two First Edition variants have had a name change too. Gone has First Edition and First Edition+ and instead, customers can opt for PURE+ or PRO+.
Completing the ORA update is the introduction of a new colour choice - Moonlight White joins the existing palette available to order.
There are now over 1,000 ORA vehicles on UK roads, with the brand planning on introducing a 'hot hatch' version of the ORA 03 later in the year and a second model too - the premium saloon ORA 07.
