Mercedes to showcase electric G Wagon at The Open
The all new, all electric Mercedes-Benz G 580 will be in attendance at this year's The Open major Golf tournament
This year's The Open Championship tees off this week and Mercedes-Benz is on hand to promote its latest models, including the all electric and all new G-Class.
The 152nd edition of the world-famous major takes place in Southern Scotland at Royal Troon gold club, which will see the world's best male golfers battle it out over 4 rounds to hold aloft the famous Claret Jug trophy.

Last year's champion Brian Harman drove to Troon this year in the new EV to hand back the trophy to the CEO of The R&A, Martin Slumbers.
The electric G-Class was given a star-studded party in Los Angeles back in April, with the likes of Selma Blair, Zane Lowe, Travis Scott and Tracee Ellis Ross in attendance.
Coming with a bumper price tag, the G 580 with EQ Technology to give the EV it's full name comes packed to the brim with all the luxury, technology and toys you'd expect with a vehicle like this.
One clever party trick is the G-TURN which allows the vehicle to turn almost on the spot, G-ROAR is artificial vehicle noise and G-STEERING provides a smaller turning circle when driving off road.
The EV has four electric motors, one for each wheel, a WLTP range figure of 290 miles and a huge 116 kWh battery pack to keep things moving.
