Developed through the smart joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, the #3 brings together European design and engineering expertise with Geely's extensive experience in electric vehicle technology. The smart #3 is available with either a 49kWh LFP battery in the Pro or a 66kWh NCM battery in the larger-battery versions. Depending on specification, official WLTP range extends from up to 325km (202 miles) in the Pro to 455km (283 miles) in the Premium.

The range figures are official WLTP estimates and real-world range will vary depending on factors such as driving style, weather, temperature and road conditions.

Charging the smart #3

The smart #3 is designed for fast and convenient charging. Depending on the version, it supports AC charging at up to 22kW and DC rapid charging at up to 150kW. The 66kWh versions can charge from 10–80% in around 30 minutes using a suitable 150kW DC charger.

That makes the #3 well suited to both everyday commuting and longer journeys, with rapid charging allowing drivers to make useful top-ups during a coffee or lunch stop.

Technology and interior

Inside, the smart #3 combines a minimalist design with a generous level of standard technology. A 12.8-inch central touchscreen provides access to the infotainment system, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to connect your smartphone. Selected versions also feature a head-up display, premium audio and additional driver assistance technology.

A panoramic halo roof helps create a bright and spacious cabin, while the coupe-inspired exterior, premium interior finishes and extensive technology give the #3 a more upmarket feel than its small-car heritage might suggest.

At the top of the range, the smart #3 BRABUS takes the electric SUV-coupé formula in a much more performance-focused direction. With 315kW of power, all-wheel drive and 0–62mph in just 3.7 seconds, it offers seriously rapid performance while retaining the practicality of a five-seat electric SUV.
