New design and longer range for 2024 Citroën ë-Berlingo
With a new powertrain upgrade, increased range, and revamped external and interior design to give greater comfort, the versatile and affordable Citroën Ñ-Berlingo gets a makeover for 2024 and will be available in a range of new colours.
The Citroën ë-Berlingo is getting a new design and an increase in range to (WLTP) 198 miles for 2024. Described by Citroën as a ‘leisure activity vehicle’, the new ë-Berlingo can be specified as a 5-seater or a 7-seater, and it will go on sale in spring 2024.
Available only as an electric version in Europe, the ë-Berlingo’s new 54 kWh battery – which delivers 20% more range than the previous model – provides energy to a 100 kW (136 bhp) electric motor.
The ë-Berlingo features 100 kW rapid charging capability, enabling a 0% to 80% charge in 30 minutes at a DC charger.
A 7.4 kW on-board AC charger comes as standard, with the option of an 11 kW three-phase charger. Using a 7.4 kW wallbox, the ë-Berlingo can be fully recharged in 7.5 hours, while an 11 kW wallbox can provide a full recharge in 5 hours.
A heat pump is available as an option, which heats the cabin without using battery power, so preserving range.
The 2024 ë-Berlingo features a new regenerative braking system, which the driver can set to one of three levels using new paddles located behind the steering wheel. Three driving modes are available: Eco, Normal and Power, along with Grip Control and Hill Assist Descent.
The ë-Berlingo is available in two sizes, M (4.40m long) and XL (4.75m long); XL size allows two additional removable seats in row three. With the front passenger seat folded down, the floor is completely flat and the load length extends to 2.70m for the M version and 3.05m for the XL version. There’s a huge 775-litre boot (the volume under the parcel shelf for the ë-Berlingo size M), or 4,000 litres of space is available (the total volume under the roof for the ë-Berlingo size XL). The ë-Berlingo has two large sliding side doors.
As well as new exterior styling, there’s also a revised interior, with a large glove box, and, for the first time, Citroën Advanced Comfort seats, as well as the latest-generation infotainment system and connectivity.
The new ë-Berlingo retains the optional Modutop multifunction roof, which incorporates a translucent arch, rear roof box, ambient lighting and blackout panoramic glass roof with electric blinds.
‘Max’ trim level includes roof bars, 17-inch alloy wheels, three independent, sliding and folding seats in row two, a rear window that opens independently of the tailgate, and a heated steering wheel.
The new ë-Berlingo is available in five body colours:
