NIO EV travels 1,044 km on one charge

NIO CEO William Li tested the 150kWh Ultra Long Range battery, NIO ET7, on a 1,044 km trip from Shanghai to Xiamen, proving its endurance with a 14-hour journey using 97% battery power.

A NIO ET7 electric car with the company’s latest Ultra Long Range 150kWh battery pack has travelled 647 miles on one charge, with 3% battery charge remaining.

The car was driven by William Li, NIO Founder, Chairman and CEO on a 14-hour journey, in cold temperatures, which began in Shanghai, with Xiamen, a city on the southeast coast of China, as the final destination.

NIO claims that the battery pack has the highest capacity and energy density for mass produced production car battery packs in China.

The 150kWh Ultra Long Range battery is compatible with NIO’s entire range of EVs, and is currently available for users of its Battery as a Service subscription model which allows drivers to flexibly scale battery capacity during each stop to suit changing requirements (a service currently available only in China).

NIO has 2,322 Power Swap Stations worldwide: 2,289 in China and 33 in Europe, with the latest opening in December 2023 in Amsterdam. On 16 December 2023, NIO performed its 34 millionth battery swap operation - equivalent to one swap every 1.4 seconds.
