Nissan unveils the New Hyper Punk concept in Japan
Nissan Hyper Punk is an all-electric crossover designed for content creators, influencers, artists, and style enthusiasts, featuring a V2X system for energy sharing and device charging.
Nissan has been pushing the boundaries of design with its series of electric vehicle concepts for the Japan Mobility Show (the Hyper Urban concept, the Hyper Adventure concept and the Hyper Tourer concept), but the fourth and final vehicle, the Hyper Punk concept, is the wildest yet.
Nissan suggests that the concept - with a highly sculptured body featuring a multitude of different, angled polygon surfaces, doors that open upwards, and large 23-inch wheels featuring a triangle design - is suitable for both city and off-road driving.
The company says that the Hyper Punk is an all-electric compact crossover “tailored for content creators, influencers, artists, and those who embrace style and innovation”. We’d say that the concept looks great and that Nissan should put it into production for anyone to buy.
The vehicle is designed as a mobile creative studio, with occupants being able to link their devices to the car’s internet connectivity, allowing them to work from the car.
The Hyper Punk has onboard cameras which can capture the scenery around the vehicle and project the images onto screens on the dashboard as artwork. The car can sense the driver’s mood and can automatically select the appropriate music and lighting.
The Hyper Punk concept also has a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system, so it could power buildings, the electricity grid, or external devices such as large screens to display artwork.
The Nissan Hyper Punk will be on physical display at the Japan Mobility Show on October 25. Until then all four concepts will be displayed on a digital 3D billboard in Tokyo.
