The DS 3 E-Tense's 54kWh battery grants the car up to 248 miles of range (WLTP), more than enough for most families. This will easily cover the school run, commuting and a trip to the supermarket. Even when the battery does need a top-up, the DS 3 fills its electricity reserve with impressive speed.
Using a 100kW rapid charger, the DS 3 can be charged from 20% to 80% in around 30 minutes, just enough time to grab an overpriced sandwich from the services and strap the kids back into their car seats.
At home, a standard 7kW wall-box charger will fully charge the battery in around 7 hours. This is often done overnight, while energy prices are lower and the National Grid may have a surplus of electricity.

DS has simplified things since the E-Tense first launched. Where the range once spanned three trims, it's now a more streamlined choice between two: Pallas and Étoile.
Pallas is the entry-level trim, and our recommended pick for most drivers. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, tinted rear windows, wireless phone charging, keyless start and a 360-degree parking camera, so you're not short of kit even at the base of the range.
Step up to Étoile and you'll find upgraded materials throughout, including Alcantara detailing on the dashboard and doors, a driver's electric seat with adjustable lumbar support, keyless entry and a head-up display available as an option.
