Ford reveals all-new E-Tourneo Custom

Ever since Ford revealed details of the E-Transit Custom it was only a matter of time before the executive spec E-Tourneo Custom would follow. Essentially built on the same skeleton as the the Transit Custom, the Tourneo's rear space is designed to work for personal and businesses looking to ferry people rather than materials.

Regularly used to chauffeur VIPs around, as well as private hire vehicles, the E-Tourneo Custom combines Ford's latest all electric technology but with a highly configurable and executive-feel rear cabin.

Getting the sliding doors treatment, the rear space has been made highly customisable, with space for up to six rear passengers, and using adjustable track-based seats, the E-Tourneo Custom can have two forward facing banks of seats, or the front row can be spun around to create a conference seating layout. For large families the rear space comes with five ISOFIX points, three on the second row and two on the third row. Flexibility is built in with the design, with the three second row seats able to moved independently while the third row is a two seat/one seat split design.

Some trim levels also come with a very large glass roof, flooding the rear space with natural light, while B&O provide the audio system.

The all electric version gets a 74kWh battery, found in the Ford F-150 Lightning pick-up truck, which means real world range will be in the 180-200 mile region, depending on weather and how many passengers are in the back. Ford has also ensured the vehicle can benefit from the growing number of rapid and ultra-rapid public chargers and can accept up to 125kW of DC power. This means going from 15% to 80% capacity can take as little as 40 minutes.

The driver hasn't been forgotten about either, with the E-Tourneo Custom benefiting from Ford's latest SYNC touchscreen infotainment screen and a rotating to near flat steering wheel which doubles as a little table for a laptop,

We'll start seeing the Ford E-Tourneo Custom on UK roads in early 2024.

The Tourneo brand has always stood for space and versatility – now we’re extending the appeal to a new generation of discerning EV buyers seeking performance and comfort.
