Kicking the range off is the SE Connect trim which comes with smart 12.3-inch LCD audio, visual and nav system complete with DAB radio, Apple Car Play and Android connectivity, wireless phone charging, rear view camera and smart navigation-based cruise control.
Sitting in the middle of the range is Premium adds heated seats, powered boot, and Hyundai’s Highway Drive Assist Level 2 with automatic lane changing function.
At the top of the IONIQ 5 range at launch is the Ultimate, which adds that little bit extra polish to the very accomplished model – a BOSE sound system, leather seats, and a heads up display.
Based on the Korean carmaker’s E-GMP platform, the IONIQ 5 comes with a choice of three powertrain options; a 58 kWh rear wheel drive, a 73 kWh rear wheel drive, or a 73 kWh all-wheel drive.
Ashley Andrew, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor UK said: “The IONIQ 5 is a watershed moment in the history of Hyundai, as the very first model built on our new Electric Vehicle-dedicated platform. Demand for IONIQ 5 in the UK and across the world has been staggering, and we’re excited to be able to open order books today to our customers.”
With its futuristic lines and trademark Hyundai build quality, we’re expecting the IONIQ 5 to be very popular.
