Škoda Enyaq gets more power, increased range, faster charging – and a name change

The Škoda Enyaq is getting more power, increased range and faster charging for 2024 – and ‘iX’ is dropped from its name. A new Laurin & Klement trim level is also introduced for the first time.

Škoda Enyaq Coupé

The 85 Edition and 85x SportLine Plus model variants replace the previous 80 and 80x versions. Thanks to a new electric motor on the rear axle the Enyaq 85 Edition has output that’s increased by 82 PS to 286 PS compared to the Enyaq 80. There’s also a 235 Nm improvement in torque, resulting in an increase from 310 Nm to 545 Nm.

Škoda Enyaq Coupé

The all-wheel drive Enyaq 85x SportLine Plus now delivers 286 PS, making it 21 PS more powerful than its predecessor. And the Enyaq vRS now comes with an output of 340 PS, an increase of 41 PS, and its 0-62 mph acceleration time has improved by one second to 5.5 seconds.

An optimised 82 kWh battery with more advanced thermal management increases the range to over (WLTP) 348 miles for the Enyaq 85 SUV and more than (WLTP) 353 miles for the Coupé 85.

The all-wheel drive Enyaq 85x SportLine Plus and Enyaq vRS now have a higher maximum charging rate, increasing from 135 kW to 175 kW; a 10% to 80% charge now takes just 28 minutes – eight minutes faster than before. Pre-conditioning preheats the battery in preparation for DC charging in low temperatures, improving charging speed by up to 22 percent.

The Enyaq 85 Edition variants with rear-wheel drive continue to charge at a maximum rate of 135 kW.

A revised user interface on all Enyaq models with the 82 kWh battery aims to make the infotainment system menu structure more intuitive, the navigation system has new maps, and it’s now possible to customise ‘quick access buttons’ for various vehicle settings – like the Lane Assist, which is a welcome improvement.

The new Laurin & Klement trim level offers extra equipment such as exclusive 20 or 21-inch alloy wheels, LED Matrix beam headlights, LED rear lights with animated indicators, and a chrome grille featuring a ‘Crystal Face’ illuminated by 131 LEDs. The Laurin & Klement version is rear-wheel drive.

The entry-level Enyaq 60 has remained technically unchanged.
