The Volkswagen ID.7 flagship model is now on sale in the UK
Volkswagen has launched the all-electric ID.7 model in the UK, boasting innovative features, a comfortable interior, and exceptional efficiency, making it an attractive choice for buyers.
The Volkswagen ID.7 is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting at £55,570.
The Volkswagen ID.7 Pro Launch Edition, the introductory model, has an impressive electric driving range of up to (WLTP) 384 miles, and it can ultra-rapid charge at up to 175 kW. However, an ID.7 with an even longer electric range of around (WLTP) 430 miles from a larger battery will be available in 2024, with an ultra-rapid charging rate of up to 200 kW.
Plug & Charge allows the driver to plug in the ID.7 at a compatible charger and the logging in, charging and paying all takes place automatically.
A key factor behind the ID.7’s long driving range is its slippery ‘fastback’ shape with a low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd (although the ID.7 is described as a saloon, it actually has a hatchback with a 500-litre boot). The ID.7 also offers a substantial power output of 286 PS.
The ID.7 features electric air vents and smart air conditioning, which the car initiates automatically as the driver approaches with the key, along with a new panoramic sunroof with smart glass which can be switched between opaque and transparent by touch control or by voice command.
The ID.7 has a 15-inch touchscreen and an augmented reality head-up display as standard, and the driver can choose their own ‘favourites’ buttons. But the big news? There are now illuminated sliders to control cabin temperature – the first time that Volkswagen has been able to implement this change so that the driver can see the temperature controls at night since the ID. models were first launched in the UK in 2020. Volkswagen says that this update has been introduced “in response to feedback from customers”.
Also for the first time on a Volkswagen ID. model, operation of the air conditioning is integrated into the first level of the infotainment system, with the different functions of the air conditioning visible at all times on the screen.
ErgoPremium seats with massage programmes and dynamic air conditioning aim to ensure the ID.7 offers maximum comfort on long journeys.
Last year, Volkswagen handed over more than 330,000 all-electric vehicles to customers worldwide.
