The lower-priced 45kWh 150PS model is due to open for order in the first quarter of 2022. The 58kWh 231PS (170kW) e-Boost and 77kWh 231PS (170kW) e-Boost models will be available later in 2022, with pricing yet to be announced.

Performance and range

The Born 58kWh 204PS offers an estimated WLTP electric range of 263 miles. With 310Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0-31mph in 2.9 seconds, with 0-62mph taking 7.3 seconds.

Trim levels

The 45kWh 150PS powertrain will be available only in V1 trim. All three trim levels will be available with the 58kWh 204PS model.

Charging

Charging the 58kWh battery from 0-100% takes 6 hours 15 minutes using an 11kW AC wall charger. A 5-80% charge using a 120kW DC rapid charger can be done in as little as 35 minutes.

Features and options

There will be an augmented reality head-up display for V2 and V3 trims, showing key driving information on the windscreen. Options include:

  • Three alloy wheel designs (one 19-inch and two 20-inch)
  • Dynamic Chassis Control

Six paint colours will be available: Vapor Grey, metallic Glacial White, Geyser Silver, Quasar Grey, Rayleigh Red and premium metallic Aurora Blue.

The CUPRA electric line-up

The Born is the brand's first all-electric car, and the second model available exclusively as a CUPRA, following the launch of the Formentor coupe SUV in 2020.

It will be joined by the electric SUV, Tavascan, in 2024, and by the small urban electric car based on the UrbanRebel concept in 2025.
