Cupra unleashes hot VZ version of Born

Spanish car brand Cupra has opened the order books on the Born VZ. The high performance variant boasts an enhanced powertrain, capable of developing 326 PS that can push the EV from zero to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds.

It's by far the most powerful Cupra Born available on the market - an uplift of 75% compared to other Born models.

The engineers have also tweaked other areas of the vehicle, for example, there's an upgraded chassis to deal with the extra power. Ensuring the car stays firmly planted on the road.

Marcus Gossen, Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, commented: "At CUPRA, we continuously strive to exceed expectations, and the Born VZ does exactly that. More power, enhanced refinement, and builds upon the strengths of an already exceptional car".

Inside the Born VZ there's now Enceladus Grey CUP bucket seats and the sound system has also been upgraded to a Sennheiser Premium one. Another upgrade over the other trims in the range is new keyless entry (KESSY advanced).

There's been a small increase in the useable battery size to 79kWh, with a WLTP range rating of 372 miles. In the real world we're expecting the model to hit 300+ miles. The car can also accept DC ultra-rapid charging speeds of up to 185 kw.
