Jaguar I-PACE Gets A New Trim and Alexa Functionality

The Jaguar I-PACE has been around for a few years now, but its futuristic design leaves it looking more like a concept than outdated. It’s still a great package too, offering 292 miles of electric range, the ability to replenish 78 miles in 15 minutes, all-wheel drive, 696Nm of torque and a 0-60mph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

The addition of Alexa means that you should be able to ask the I-PACE to do a range of things without having to touch any car controls or your phone. For example you can interact with the I-PACE’s Pivi Pro infotainment systems' features including navigation, media playback, phone calls, and compatible smart devices.

The I-PACE is the first Jaguar to feature Amazon Alexa voice control, but all new Jaguars with Pivi Pro will now come with Alexa.

Existing owners of I-PACE models with Pivi Pro are among more than 55,000 Jaguar customers to have been offered Alexa in a software-over-the-air update. Owners will be notified via a message displayed in their vehicle’s touchscreen.

I-PACE drivers will also potentially be able to control compatible smart home features such as heating and lighting from an I-PACE through Alexa. And if you’re sitting in your house, you can ask Alexa what the range of your I-PACE is.

You can also choose what time you want your I-PACE to start and finish charging so you can take advantage of cheaper rate electricity overnight for example.

As well the addition of Alexa, the I-PACE is now also available with a new Premium Black Pack option.

This adds a Gloss Black finish to the grille, grille surround, side window surrounds, door mirror caps and rear badges, together with 22-inch split-spoke wheels finished in Gloss Black, a rear spoiler and air suspension. The I-PACE is also now available in Ostuni White metallic for the first time.
