The EX90 is Volvo's next-generation fully-electric flagship model SUV
Volvo's range-topping flagship model, the fully-electric Volvo X90 SUV is reinterpreting luxury and sustainability with its architectural focus on advanced safety and intelligent tech.
The forthcoming all-electric Volvo EX90 SUV features a 111 kWh battery delivering an electric driving range of up to (WLTP) 363 miles, bi-directional charging, seven adult-sized seats, and interior highlights including a Bowers & Wilkins 3D surround sound experience.
Volvo claims that no matter which of the seven seats you’re occupying, you’ll be able to enjoy ultra-realistic 3D surround sound from the 25 speakers throughout the EX90s cabin.
Dolby Atmos through the Bowers & Wilkins speaker system allows occupants of the EX90 to experience individual sounds in a three-dimensional space, which Volvo says offers a more immersive sound experience with greater depth, detail and clarity.
The audio system is enhanced further by surround sound listening modes, including Studio mode, Individual Stage-setting and Concert Hall mode, which allows vehicle occupants to tailor the sound to suit personal tastes. Speakers are integrated into the dashboard, doors, headlining, and rear-wheel housing and are built into the headrests of the front-row seats.
Other features of the EX90 include the lighting of the car’s interior with near-sunlight, delivered through a full suite of 72 SunLike LEDs which aim to express natural colours as they’re seen in nature. The suppression of blue light, in combination with non-flickering light, can help reduce eyestrain and headaches. The Volvo EX90 and the Polestar 3 are the first two production vehicles to feature this technology.
The EX90’s interior also contains ‘Nordico’ material, created from textiles made from recycled material such as PET bottles, as well as bio-attributed material from responsibly managed forests in Sweden and Finland. There are also Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood panels in the cabin.
And the Volvo EX90 offers the option of a wool blend seat finishing, a fabric certified according to strict sustainability standards on animal welfare, and environmental and social issues.
