Alpine A290 undergoes winter testing in Sweden
Forthcoming electric hot-hatch the Alpine A290 is being fine-tuned during winter testing in Scandinavia
Set to be officially unveiled in June 2024, the Alpine A290 is an all-electric hot hatch coming out of Renault Group's sportscar brand. Based on the also forthcoming Renault 5, the A290 is currently being tested and tweaked under winter weather conditions in Sweden.
The full capability and equipment of the electric car are being put through their paces - so not only the car's dynamic performance but also things such as defogging, defrosting and interior heating efficiency.
The testing has also included the use of special Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 winter tyres, which will join two summer sport tyres when the car becomes available to order. The winter tyres will join the Pilot Sport EV tyre and Pilot Sport S5 high-performance tyre.
Our A290, the future compact B-segment electric sports car is currently being tested in the extreme and demanding conditions of Sweden's Lapland. The target of this important stage is to confirm the direction we have taken with handling and agility, which is part of our DNA on low grip conditions.
