BMW: 1 in 4 new car registrations in 2023 was electric
German giant BMW has revealed it registered almost 29,000 all-electric cars during 2023 in the UK, an increase of 34 per cent compared to 2022.
BMW has reported 28,723 all-electric cars were registered in the UK during 2023, against a total number of registrations of 111,734 cars. This means that 1 in every 4 BMWs registered last year was zero tailpipe emissions and in the corporate sector this increased to 1 in every 2 BMWs registered.
Overall, BMW saw a three percent increase in overall vehicle registrations in 2023 compared to 2022.
We have achieved a strong performance in 2023 with sales growth having been driven by our extensive BEV model range. The success of our all-electric models confirms we are on the right track as we continue to ramp-up our BEV offering in 2024
