DriveElectric and Keolis celebrate Sustainable Fleet of the Year win

Announced at the prestigious industry event in London, the award celebrates organisations that are leading the way in reducing environmental impact through electrification, smarter operations and forward-thinking fleet strategies.

KAD’s achievement highlights the impact of a bold transition to zero-emission transport, delivered in close collaboration with DriveElectric and key partners.

A partnership driving real-world electrification

DriveElectric has worked closely with KeolisAmey Docklands to design and deliver a fully electric fleet solution supporting the Docklands Light Railway network in London.

Through a competitive tender process, DriveElectric implemented a turnkey electrification strategy, covering vehicle procurement, infrastructure support and operational continuity.

The result is a fleet of 39 electric vans and 6 electric cars, including specialist vehicles such as tail lifts and flatbeds, traditionally challenging to electrify.

Importantly, the transition is being completed four years ahead of schedule, demonstrating what’s possible with the right expertise and collaboration.

Beyond carbon reduction, the new fleet is already delivering:

  • Lower fuel and maintenance costs
  • Improved operational visibility through telematics
  • Enhanced air quality for local communities
  • Greater resilience through smart charging and energy solutions

Industry recognition for sustainable leadership

Winning Sustainable Fleet of the Year reinforces KeolisAmey Docklands’ position as a leader in clean transport, setting a benchmark for other fleet operators across the UK.

The award reflects not only the scale of the transition, but also the complexity of delivering electrification in a demanding urban environment while maintaining critical infrastructure services.

Celebrating the people behind the project

This success is also a testament to the dedication and expertise of the teams involved.

DriveElectric would like to recognise the outstanding contribution of colleagues who supported the project, including Erika and Ellie, whose hard work and collaboration helped bring this ambitious fleet transformation to life.

Their efforts, alongside the wider teams across DriveElectric, KeolisAmey Docklands and partners demonstrate the power of collaboration in accelerating the journey to Net Zero.
