Kia EV5 designed with Europe’s drivers in mind
The Kia EV5 arrives as a fresh contender in Europe’s largest and fastest-growing vehicle segment, the compact SUV. Designed specifically with European drivers in mind, it incorporates practical features and advanced technology tailored to the continent’s diverse roads, climates, and lifestyles.

Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV5 features a bold, rugged exterior softened by refined details like Kia’s signature ‘Star Map’ lighting. Inside, the cabin offers practical versatility, with rear seats that fold flat to create a spacious load area up to two metres long—perfect for both urban errands and weekend getaways.
The interior environment prioritises comfort and sustainability. Seats come with massage functions, heating, ventilation, and lumbar support, while materials such as recycled PET fabrics and bio foam reflect Kia’s commitment to responsible design.
Under the hood, the EV5 houses an 81.4 kWh battery delivering an estimated 329 miles of range (WLTP). Fast charging brings the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. The vehicle’s systems, like i-Pedal 3.0 for one-pedal driving and Smart Regeneration that adjusts braking based on navigation data, enhance efficiency and driving ease.
European drivers can rely on the EV5’s advanced battery heating and cooling to maintain performance in everything from Nordic winters to Mediterranean summers. Additionally, bi-directional charging allows the car to power external devices or send electricity back to the grid when regulations and infrastructure allow.
Kia’s latest ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) system takes centre stage with a panoramic wide display combining three screens, while over-the-air updates keep features current. Navigation is boosted with live map updates and a generative AI voice assistant, making journeys smoother and more intuitive.
Safety hasn’t been overlooked, with seven airbags, structural reinforcements, and an extensive Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package. New Intelligent Speed Limit Assist improves driver comfort, while features like expanded Parking Collision Avoidance, Smart Cruise Control with emergency stop, and Highway Driving Assist with lane-centering contribute to safer, more confident driving. Remote Smart Parking Assist adds convenience when manoeuvring in tight spaces.
Sjoerd Knipping, Kia Europe’s Chief Operating Officer, describes the EV5 as a key part of Kia’s European growth, built to blend practicality, style, and technology in a way that suits local needs.
The Kia EV5 promises to be a versatile, capable addition for drivers looking for an electric vehicle tailored to Europe’s unique demands.
