Nissan confirms NISMO Ariya for 40th anniversary
Fans of Nissan's performance arm are in luck, the Japanese carmaker has confirmed a special Ariya is heading to the UK
To celebrate NISMO's 40th birthday, Nissan is launching a very special Ariya NISMO model.
It's the first all-electric car to get the performance makeover and sees several internal and external NISMO specific branding and mods, beefed suspension and some performance tuning to the e-4ORCE drivetrain. There's even a special NISMO drive mode to really tune the EV to the track.
This new trim level is based on the existing Ariya 87kWh e-4ORCE, so that's an all-wheel drive set up with a large battery pack. The engineers have also tweaked the braking system and torque distribution to give the Ariya NISMO a really sporty kick.
“Ariya NISMO strikes the perfect balance of the immediate response and acceleration of an all-electric car with the mechanical fine-tuning of a sports car, resulting in an outstanding car for day-to-day driving. With its striking design and stance, get ready to stand out from the crowd!” Mayra González, Divisional Vice President Marketing & Sales, Nissan Europe.
