Subaru announces three new all electric models for 2026
Subaru announces three new electric models for the UK, featuring impressive range, rugged capability, and drivetrain options to suit every driver.
Subaru is charging ahead in the electric era with the announcement of three new fully electric SUVs heading to Europe, including the all-new Subaru Uncharted, the refreshed Subaru Solterra, and the brand-new flagship Subaru E-Outback.
The trio, all built on Subaru’s enhanced e-Subaru Global Platform, mark a bold expansion of the company’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) offering in the UK. Each model brings a mix of off-road readiness, advanced safety, and improved electric performance, staying true to Subaru’s adventure-driven DNA.

Subaru Uncharted Electric SUV
Making its European debut, the Subaru Uncharted is Subaru’s first-ever all-electric compact SUV. Designed for drivers who want practicality with personality, the Uncharted blends Subaru’s classic go-anywhere capability with agile handling and modern tech.
Built for versatility, the Uncharted comes with a choice of three drivetrain configurations:
- AWD Dual-Motor: 77 kWh battery, 252 kW (344 ps), 292 miles of range (WLTP), 0-62 mph in 5.0 seconds, and 1,500 kg towing capacity.
- FWD Long-Range: Single-motor with the same 77 kWh battery, offering up to 363 miles on a single charge – ideal for drivers prioritising efficiency.
- FWD Standard: A 57.7 kWh battery version delivering up to 276 miles of range.
Every variant features a 22 kW onboard charger and rapid charging from 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes – even in low temperatures, thanks to intelligent battery pre-conditioning.
Inside, the Uncharted is equally impressive, with a 14-inch infotainment display, dual wireless charging pads, paddle shifters, and a distinctive squared steering wheel. The compact body offers a tight 5.5-metre turning circle and 210 mm of ground clearance for confident urban and off-road driving alike.

Subaru E-Outback (Expected summer 2026)
Subaru brings its beloved Outback into the EV age with the all-new E-Outback, a rugged, spacious SUV that blends performance with practicality.
Powered by a 74.7 kWh battery, the E-Outback delivers 280 kW (380 ps) and sprints from 0-62 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Range exceeds 279 miles*, while the Symmetrical AWD, 210 mm ground clearance, and dual X-MODE terrain system ensure it's still the off-road champ fans expect.
A generous interior – longer than the Solterra – offers plenty of space for families, kit and adventure gear, while an array of advanced safety features adds peace of mind, including Emergency Driving Stop and Secondary Collision Braking.
Updated Subaru Solterra: more range, more power, more capability
Subaru has also upgraded its first EV, the Solterra, with notable improvements across the board. The updated model now delivers:
- 252 kW (344 ps) via dual e-axles
- A 73.1 kWh battery providing up to 310+ miles of range*
- Faster charging: 10–80% in 30 minutes, even at -10°C
- Increased towing capacity (1,500 kg) – double that of the previous model
The refreshed Solterra also receives updated styling, improved aerodynamics, and a tech-focused interior led by a new 14-inch touchscreen. Enhanced camera support further boosts the already strong safety suite.
