About the SsangYong Korando
SsangYong may be relatively unknown in comparison with its other South Korean counterparts, but its focus on affordable SUVs shouldn't be overlooked. The Korando is the culmination of 65+ years of automotive history, with SsangYong finally making the jump to a pure-electric powertrain. This isn't just spiel either. Their latest SUV is covered by a 7-year, 90k-mile warranty for consumers worried about build quality.
The Korando is designed to be a 'proper' SUV, rather than the current trend of crossovers. It's a good looking vehicle and puts the occupants in a commanding position over the road.
Inside, the fully digital instrument cluster displays information clearly and concisely: from satellite navigation options to speedo and rev gauge. There's a main infotainment in the centre of the dashboard that handles all of the more in-depth controls. An example of which is the mood lighting option, for a bit of added flair.
Charging the SsangYong Korando
The SsangYong Korando is offered with a single 56kWh battery option.
The 56kWh pack grants the Korando an official WLTP range of 211 miles. At DriveElectric we like to offer a more realistic range so there are no surprises when your shiny new lease arrives, as such we'd recommend the Korando has a 'real world' range of 180 miles.
Charging wise, the SsangYong utilises European standard Type 2 and CCS connectors. From a standard domestic 7kWh wall-box, the battery will fully charge in around 10 hours. If you need to charge on-the-go, a 100kW rapid charger will see the car charged from 10-80% in just over 40 minutes.
