Volkswagen’s electric version of the ever popular Golf has all the quality of the ICE version with the added bonus of a smooth and quiet ride. The Volkswagen e-Golf Hatchback has an official driving range of 143 miles WLTP, though we have found a real-world driving range around 125 miles per charge more accurate.
The e-Golf has a 33kWh battery and will take around 13 hours to recharge from a domestic 230V socket. Via a dedicated EV wall box charger, that can be reduced to about 8 hours. When you’re on the go, a 40kW Combined Charging System dispensing DC will have the e-Golf at 80% full its charge within about 30 minutes.
The e-Golf has 341 litres of boot space, this is slightly less than a combustion engine Golf as a little space has been sacrificed to make room for the vehicle’s 264 battery cells.
Electric vehicles are easy to charge, cheap to run and better for the environment.
If every car on the road was an electric car, we'd all benefit from cleaner air in our lungs.
