Volkswagen’s electric version of the ever popular Golf hatchback has all the quality of the ICE (Internal Combusion Engine) versions with the added bonus of a smooth and quiet ride. The Volkswagen e-Golf Hatchback has an official driving range of 143 miles WLTP, though we have found a real-world driving range of around 125 miles per charge more accurate.
The e-Golf has a 36kWh battery and will take around 5 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge at home on a electric car charger. Grants are available to help with the cost of installing a home charger.
When you’re on the go, a rapid charger will charge the e-Golf from 10% to 80% battery charge in a speedy 35 minutes. For more information read our guide: How long does it take to charge an electric car?
The e-Golf is a small family car and has 341 litres of boot space, this is only slightly less than a combustion engine Golf as a little space has been sacrificed to make room for the vehicle’s battery cells.
