About the Audi e-tron

Not to be confused with the Q4 e-tron or the e-tron GT, this e-tron is the original all-electric model from the premium German brand. Come on Audi, make it easy for people! There's also a e-tron Sportback version too...

Aside from the naming convention, there's a whole lot of premium SUV here, complete with all the German style and panache you've come to expect from Audi.

A mid-sized SUV with plenty of room to accommodate five adults, the original concept version was first shown off to the world back in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The production version arrived in 2019 and became one of the first premium all-electric SUVs in the UK.

How to charge an Audi e-tron

The Audi e-tron comes with a choice of two battery sizes, the 230 kW power version comes with a 71 kWh battery pack, while the 300 kW versions have 95 kWh batteries.

This means that the 95 kWh e-tron takes around 9 hours for a complete full charge on a 11kW AC home charger unit, the smaller battery version around 7 hours. Both come with CCS/Type 2 connectors which allows them to use the the higher-power rapid chargers found on the public charging networks, where 20%-80% charging can be complete in around 25mins.
