Fleetdrive have been providing professional fleet management services to the SME sector for 20 years and are now bringing their expertise to Orkney, with a local office hosted by Johnathan Porterfield.
Being independent of any manufacturer, Fleetdrive offer impartial advice and expertise to identify the most practical fleet solutions for your type of business.
We can supply all makes and models of cars and vans on leasing contracts which are tailored to your specific business requirements. Based in Orkney, Jonathan will act on our behalf to offer advice and quotes and also arrange efficient vehicle deliveries to the island.
Fleetdrive also have a dedicated Electric division to provide specialist knowledge and expertise to meet the increasing demand for low-carbon, sustainable fleet solutions.
Fleetdrive Electric, the UK’s leading provider of low-emission business vehicles, are working with a number of partners to deliver a £9m Ofgem funded project, known as ‘My Electric Avenue’, designed to test the impact of electric vehicles on the local electricity network.
Hosted by Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD), the project will trial a new technology developed by EA Technology which will monitor and control the electricity used when an electric car is being charged. The data collected will be shared amongst network operators, government, the energy industry, the low carbon vehicle sector and the general public as a whole to enable planning and preparations for the future when electric vehicles will be commonplace.
Under the Social Trial element of the programme, participants are able to lease an all-electric Nissan LEAF at an exclusively-subsidised rate for 24 months. Applicants can be individuals or groups and there’s no requirement to have any technology installed in the home. Spaces in the Social Trials are limited and so the cars are being allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The project has already been very well-received in Orkney, and Fleetdrive Electric have now delivered 5 Nissan LEAF electric cars as part of the trial.
Mike Potter, Managing Director at Fleetdrive Electric, says; “We are keen to see Orkney use more Electric Vehicles, to make use of the renewable power on the island, and have appointed Johnathan Porterfield to provide a local point of contact, not only for the electric side of our business, but also to provide advice and quotes for the entire range of car and van leasing opportunities that Fleetdrive can offer to local businesses.”
