About the Hyundai IONIQ Electric

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is the first vehicle to come from Hyundai’s new electric-only brand (IONIQ). After the brand’s previous successes with the award-winning vehicles Hyundai IONIQ Electric and the Kona EV, it’s a step into the future and this new vehicle is something we have all looking forward to. This EV has a roomy customizable interior and lots of exciting technology gadgets and cool features. It is also built with environment-friendly materials including eco-processed leather, yarn made of crushed recycled PET bottles and raw materials extracted from sugar cane, these materials have been used throughout the vehicle, from the carpet and roof liner to the seat covers – topping up the cars eco credential yet are durable, look great and add to the car’s premium feel.

Powertrain and range

Charging the IONIQ 5
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 uses type 2 / ccs charging connections, this is standard with most electric cars. The car is equipped with an 800-volt battery system for ultra-fast charging can be topped up using a compatible public charger up to 80% in less than 20 minutes (18minutes to be precise).
When you are charging at home, charging the IONIQ 5 is simple, just plug it into your wall box home charger when you need to top up and leave it to charge. Most EV drivers get a 7kW wall box charger installed, and when using one of these you can expect the IONIQ 5 to fully recharge from empty in around 9 hours.
IONIQ 5 SE Connect features
This is the base model of the Hyundai IONIQ 5, SE Connect trim level. It comes with an excellent specification as standard with lots of new tech and safety features. The features include 19″ alloy wheels, ultra fast charging, dual zone climate control, tinted rear windows, wireless phone charging, mood lighting, lane keep assist and intelligent speed limit assist, highway drive assist and plenty of other features to ensure your drive is smooth and enjoyable as possible.
