How leasing with DriveElectric works
At DriveElectric we've been helping people make the switch to an EV (electric vehicle) since 2008. We aim to make it as easy as possible and support our customers every step of the way.
1. Choose your EV
customise your EV, add in your mileage, contact length. Ask our friendly team anything you need to know. We are on hand to support.
2. Ordering
We will carry out an affordability check - hard credit search, and give you a rough eta of your vehicle delivery. You can check your credit score on through Experian if you're curious.
3. Delivery date arranged
We will keep you regularly updated until your car is delivered. This is the time to get a home charger installed if that's how you're going to be topping up.
4. Delivery day
Your car arrives, and it's yours to drive until your contract expires. We are always a phone call or email away to help if you have any queries or you can take a look at our in-life FAQs anytime.
EV leasing made easy
New to contract hire? Here's how it works...
Personal Contract Hire (PCH) and Business Contract Hire (BCH) are long-term vehicle rental agreements. Contract Hire is often known by the term 'leasing'. You pay for the use of the vehicle throughout your contract, then return the electric car to the finance company at the end of the agreement without any further obligations.
- Fixed monthly rental makes it easier to budget
- You choose your contract duration, initial rental terms and annual mileage to suit your personal circumstances
- Wide range of electric cars to choose from
- Optional full service and maintenance packages available
- At the end of the rental period you simply hand the car back to us and are free to choose what EV you’d like next
- Personal Contract Hire is subject to status and credit acceptance
- This is a hire product so you will not own the vehicle and there is no option to buy it at the end of contract
- Minimum duration is 24 months and 5,000 miles per annum
- If selected – Service & maintenance package includes: manufacturer recommended servicing and tyres, and excludes misuse, accident damage and vehicle glass
- Early termination can be expensive
- If you have exceeded your agreed mileage, an excess mileage charge will be payable, worked out on a ‘pence per mile’ basis as set at the start of your contract
- You must return the vehicle in a well maintained condition. Any damage over and above that stated in the Fair Wear and Tear Guide will be subject to additional charges
- The vehicle must be insured with full comprehensive cover. It is your responsibility to ensure the EV is correctly insured
- You may be able to extend the length of contract, if you are considering this then contact our customer support team

Home charging
Going to charge at home? We've got you covered.
Charging at home is the most cost effective and convenient way to top up. We've made it even simpler to get started, you can choose to wrap the cost of a Podpoint home charger and installation* into your car lease, it's yours to keep at the end of the contract and it spreads the cost affordably over the term of your lease.
